Philip's Own Men's Health Herbal Tea 4 oz (loose leaf) is a warming blend of Ashwagandha, "Horny Goat Weed", Saw Palmetto, Cinnamon, Sarsaparilla Root, Cardamom, Oatstraw, and Sencha Green Tea.

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen and energy tonic having stamina-enhancing properties probably equal to those of Ginseng. This herb retards various aspects to the aging process, improves sexual performance and fertility, and is a paramount tonic in the process of recuperation from exhaustive burnt-out stages of stress.

Epimedium Leaf also known as "Horny Goat Weed" is traditionally used to treat impotence and spermatorrhea and is reputed to increase the production of sperm, heighten the level of testosterone, and stimulate sensory nerves. This Chinese herb, named yin yang huo, also translates as “licentious Goat Weed,” suggesting desired lusty effects. Traditionally, it has been used to increase libido and improve sexual performance by correcting erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. Horny Goat Weed elicits a moderate androgenlike effect on the testes and the prostate, increasing sperm production while stimulating the sensory nerves by which it indirectly increases sexual desire. It contains a notable flavonoid (icariin) that, like Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, is a cGMP-specific PDE-5 inhibitor.

Saw Palmetto berries are sexual tonics famous for keeping a man’s prostate healthy and treating the problems of prostate enlargement thought to be caused by an accumulation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a biologically active metabolite of the hormone testosterone. It is said to be about thirty times more potent than testosterone because of its increased affinity to the androgen receptors. The buildup of DHT in the prostate can decrease sex drive and performance. Saw Palmetto stops the conversion of testosterone to DHT, aiding the shrinking and relaxing of the prostate when it enlarges A healthy prostate is an important element of male health and is essential for male sexual health, so the harmonizing tonic energy of this herb produces the background music to which aphrodisiacs can more easily dance with male sexual potency.

Cinnamon According to researchers, out of twenty-six of the most popular herbs and medicinal spices in the world, cinnamon actually ranks #1 in terms of its protective antioxidant levels! The unique smell, color, and flavor of cinnamon is due to the oily part of the tree that it grows from. The health benefits of cinnamon come from the bark of the Cinnamomum tree. This bark contains several special compounds which are responsible for its many health-promoting properties- including cinnamaldehyde, cinnamic acid, and cinnamate. Researchers have concluded that the health benefits of cinnamon can be obtained in the form of its pure bark, essential oils, in ground spice form (which is bark powder), or in extract form when its special phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and antioxidants are isolated. These compounds make cinnamon one of the most beneficial spices on earth, giving it antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, immunity-boosting, cancer and heart disease-protecting abilities.

Sarsaparilla Root Empirical observation suggests that Sarsaparilla possesses mild androgen like effects and can serve as a reasonable sexual tonic and anabolic toner. It combines with Saw Palmetto and Echinacea for nourishing and toning the reproductive organs.

Cardamom The health benefits of cardamom include gastrointestinal protection, cholesterol control, control of cancer, relief from cardiovascular issues, and improvement of blood circulation in the body. It is useful for curing dental diseases and urinary tract infections such as cystitis, nephritis, and gonorrhea Cardamom possesses aphrodisiac properties and is also used as a cure for impotence, erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation.

Oatstraw is a known nervine, meaning that it soothes and nourishes the central nervous system. It may be helpful in treating anxiety, insomnia and nervousness, according to Finnish herbalist Henriette Kress. Weed promotes the use of oatstraw infusion for those whose anxiety is accompanied by excessive nervous energy. She also proposes that oatstraw can soothe an over-stressed nervous system, providing centered, calm energy. The B vitamins may be one reason that oatstraw tea has such a beneficial action on stress.

Sencha Green Tea is made from the first tender emerald green leaves of the tea plant. The leaves are harvested in early summer then steamed, twisted, and dried. While fresh and bright, its flavor is grassy and bittersweet with a hint of an ocean breeze, and is an excellent tea to serve guests.
